the writer behind the words

As you may know or if this is your first time around the block, I'm Nina. I honestly never know what to say about myself. I'm hella introverted and the older I get becoming super boring, but I love words. I love what we can turn them into. There are so many possibilities, so many lives, places, and personalities we can explore all within the keystrokes of our computers or clenching a pen.

I wrote my debut novel Front St. Porter & On Us series at a very difficult time in my life. A lot of things unleashed in the books released me personally. I fell in love with that feeling immensely. Syntaxing my own words in ways that not only I but other people can relate and find enjoyment, brings me happiness I haven't felt in a very long time.

I cope with mental illness which also was something I never saw myself being open about but writing definitely provided me an outlet to express things in a way I was unable to be understood. It brought me more clarity than I imagined. Readers relating to characters so much that they felt safe enough to disclose their own personal journeys gave me the courage to be forthcoming with my own. Again, words, I give the amazing testimonies and community building to words.

The confidence I found through writing brings me solace and faith in my strength with words to turn real-life, trauma and feelings into relatable fictional stories, ultimately, creating my own version of love.🤎
